Course Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

• Significant industry experience in drilling operations or completion of a lower-level qualification in a related field

• Strong language, literacy, and numeracy skills for interpreting complex technical information, preparing detailed reports, and communicating at a management level

• Access to a suitable workplace for practical components and assessments

Assessment Method

Participants are assessed through a combination of practical demonstrations, workplace portfolios, and written assessments. These assessments ensure that participants can apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in their work environment. Assessment methods include:

• BSBWHS521 – Ensure a Safe Workplace for a Work Area:
  Learn how to implement and manage health and safety protocols for a specific work area, ensuring compliance with WHS regulations and fostering a culture of safety.

• BSBWOR502 – Lead and Manage Team Effectiveness:
  Develop leadership and management skills to foster team collaboration, resolve conflicts, and drive team effectiveness in drilling operations.

• RIIENV501E – Implement and Maintain Environmental Management Plans:
  Understand how to implement and monitor environmental management plans to ensure drilling operations meet sustainability and regulatory standards.

• RIIBEF402D – Supervise On-Site Operations:
  Gain the skills to supervise on-site drilling operations, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational plans and regulations.

• RIINHB402E – Supervise Drilling Operations:
  Learn to supervise the entire drilling process, from planning to execution, ensuring that all drilling activities meet safety, environmental, and operational standards.

 

Certification

​

Upon successful completion, participants will receive the RII50620 Diploma of Drilling Operations, a nationally recognised qualification that prepares them for leadership roles in the drilling industry.

 

Please note that your certification will be issued within 30 calendar days of meeting these requirements, in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) guidelines.
