Course Description:

The S11 Mining Induction Training, also known as the Standard 11, is an industry-recognised safety and induction course required for individuals looking to work in Queensland’s coal and metalliferous mining sectors. This comprehensive course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to work safely and effectively within a mining environment, meeting the regulatory requirements under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act (1999) and the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act (1999).

The primary aim of the S11 Mining Induction is to provide participants with a solid understanding of the safety protocols, legislation, and practical applications necessary for working in a mining environment. By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise and manage common workplace hazards in a mining context.

  • Understand and comply with Queensland mining health and safety laws.

  • Effectively respond to mining site emergency situations.

  • Operate safely in both surface and underground mining operations.

  • Understand the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees regarding health and safety in the mining industry.

The S11 Mining Induction Training is ideal for:

  • Individuals new to the mining industry who need to meet the safety training requirements to gain employment.

  • Contractors or service providers entering Queensland’s mining sector who need to understand and comply with mining safety regulations.

Mode of Delivery:

The S11 course can be delivered in multiple formats to suit individual needs and preferences:
