Course Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for this qualification. However, participants should:

  • Be Employed in a Relevant Role: As the course is delivered through employment-based training, participants must be employed in a well servicing or oil and gas-related role.

  • Basic Literacy and Numeracy Skills: Participants should have a foundational level of literacy and numeracy to complete the course materials and assessments.

  • USI (Unique Student Identifier): Participants must provide a USI to enrol in accredited training in Australia.

Assessment Method 

Participants are assessed through a combination of practical demonstrations, workplace portfolios, and written assessments. These assessments ensure that participants can apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in their work environment. Assessment methods include:

  • RIIERR405 – Control Emergencies and Critical Situations:
    Gain the skills to manage and control emergencies, including equipment malfunctions, well control issues, and critical incidents, ensuring safety and operational continuity.

  • RIISAM404 – Monitor Oil and Gas Equipment Maintenance:
    Learn to monitor and manage the maintenance of well servicing equipment, ensuring that all machinery operates safely and efficiently during well servicing operations.

  • RIIWHS405D – Maintain Standard Procedures and Safe Working Practices:
    Understand how to maintain standard procedures and ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices during well servicing operations.

  • RIIWSV401E – Rig Up and Rig Down for Well Servicing Operations:
    Develop the skills to safely rig up and rig down equipment in well servicing operations, ensuring efficient setup and breakdown processes for well servicing rigs.

  • RIIWSV403E – Participate in Well Servicing Nippling-Up and Pressure Tests:

  • RIICOM301E – Communicate Information:
    Acquire the skills to communicate effectively within the well servicing team, ensuring that all information is conveyed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • TAEDEL301 – Provide Work Skill Instruction:
    Gain the ability to instruct and train team members in well servicing operations, ensuring that skills are transferred effectively in the workplace

 

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised RII41220 Certificate IV in Well Servicing Operations, qualifying them to take on leadership and supervisory roles within the well servicing sector.

 

Please note that your certification will be issued within 30 calendar days of meeting these requirements, in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) guidelines.
